Who are Jcraft?
Based in Sidlesham, West Sussex Jcraft was founded in 2005 by boatbuilder and designer Jamie Dobson an industry professional with a lifelong love of the water and boating.
Starting in the marine industry as a 17 year old apprentice Jamies successful and consist ent career began in 1993 where he rose swiftly up the ranks building the BWM and Tohatsus RIBs then moved on to become the head of workshop and sole builder of the original UK Ballistic RIBs. In 2005 using skills and knowledge he ventured to design a RIB of his own vision rented a small workshop in Portsmouth and began to create the Jcraft model range. Instant success of the smaller 290 RIB saw Jcraft move to larger premises in West Sussex in 2008 and continue to grow . The 2011 season has seen Jcraft busier than ever through reputation and reccomendation and looking forward to 2012 ambition is to continue to build on the companies success and release the range to dealerships alongside the supply of expert advice, repair and maintenance skills to companies and individuals
Jcraft Concept Using the hands on experience gained from actively building Rigid Inflatables from start to finish, repairing and working on a variety of craft and through his work sea trialing RIBs from various manufacturers provided an unparalleled knowledge as to what makes for a superior boat in terms of the quality of build its design features and handling capabilities. The Jcraft range combines both Jamies professional and personal experience into the build and design of its models and uses an original build concept of a solid and powerful commercial build hull topped with contemporary design features. A Jcraft RIB stands alone in its originality and quality of build whilst practicality of use has influenced the design features and fit out. We believe in bespoke tailoring and so an added extra that is provided as as standard is that customers are able to customise a RIB to suit their personal style or reflect corporate identity through a choice of hull, tube and upholstery colours.
